How to explain vintage grade? Even the local sandalwood guys aren’t truly sure on what creates a ‘vintage’ wood but these offerings are truly unique and very rare.
This vintage grade Sumba Boom Stick was originally a 1.6kg log. there is an interesting story attached to this wood, read on. 350g of which has been sold privately to a collector and the rest I have here for sale to you. The aroma is nothing like the normal zesty Sumba we provide. This log is spicy, camphor, cigar box, maybe slightly herbal. The scent is very strong, it lingers in the air and the chip goes the distance on the sub too. Chips and logs available..
The story:
This log and a few others were reportedly taken from the Sultan of Sumba’s household by his grandson to help pay off horse racing debts! royal wood right here!
Cut to size in house by us, ready for your appreciation! These smaller (session sized) pieces Are ready to go, the perfect size to heat up at home!
You will receive a mixture of small pieces weighing anywhere between 0.5-2g each. Can easily be snapped into smaller chunks if needed.
Sandalwood is indigenous to many Asian & African countries and also grown in Australia, Hawaii. Mysore sandalwood from India being the most expensive and most famous. It’s oil is widely used in perfumery and the wood can be burned for its scent.
How to use? High heat doesn’t bring out the best for this wood. Use on an ashy coal (please wait for coal to form white ash, or even wait longer for lower heat!) And preferably a mica plate. The best results with this wood is to use an electric Subitism heater.
