A beautifully intriguing Prachin oud with a more serious, refined character. This is not an overtly sweet or candy-like oud; instead, it leans towards the darker and more resinous side, with a restrained fruitiness that gradually reveals itself as the oil develops on the skin.

On application, the oil opens with a remarkably clean, expressive profile. There is an immediate impression of light pencil shavings and fresh woody material, accompanied by a pronounced resinous character. The opening has a dry, polished quality that gives the oil a sense of depth without being heavy or overly barnyard.

As the oil warms, darker nuances begin to emerge. A subtle stewed blackberry accord develops alongside the impression of aged leather, bringing a gentle fermented-fruit quality and a touch of warmth. The sweetness remains controlled throughout, sitting underneath the wood and resin rather than dominating the composition.

The dry-down is where this Prachin really comes into its own: dark fruits, smooth resin, aged wood and soft leather come together into a deep but exceptionally clean finish. There is a quiet complexity to the oil, with the fruit becoming darker and more integrated as it settles.

A wonderful choice for someone who enjoys oud with depth, resin, dark fruit and mature woody character, but prefers a cleaner profile with very little barnyard.
