Shunar” (সোনার) is the possessive form of (gold) in Bengali. “Andhokar” (অন্ধকার) means “darkness.” Kind of a poetic contradiction or paradox that I feel suits this oil quite well!
It’s a deep, deep and mysterious scent but behind the vail of darkness you will notice shards of bright glimmering fruits.
Old wild wood (30-40 years of age). Nailed for 7 years before harvest. 30 day soak then 7 day hydro distillation.
The scent:
Intriguing and mysterious. Milk chocolate on application moving to old leather books , cow shed barn. Hints of star anise and deep spices. Dry down is sweet honey with bright pear drops. The barn is here but not particularly intrusive. Barn 4/10
