Rose and musk is a marriage made in heaven. Rose Attar on its own is fine but when you add musk it just enhances everything! There’s no right or wrong with these 2. You can take a rose + sandalwood Attar then add say 20% of a 4:1. musk maceration like mine, the results will be a more enhanced version of rose Attar with the musk being very backstage, even maybe unnoticed. You can take a musk maceration and add a small % of straight gulab oil and you’ve got a mega musk with hint of rose. I decided 50/50. This recipe offers a wonderful balance of rose with the unmistakable backbone of musk! I took our original ‘Attar Rose’ blended with Timor sandalwood and added the same amount of my 2021 Kashmir musk maceration, unfiltered with grains! This oil is set for future greatness!

Aged 2.5 years this musk maceration is still animalic but has tamed a great deal and will continue to grow in time. You could buy this Attar, put it away in a cupboard to forget about. Come back in 10 years it will be incredible! The rose will age gracefully and the musk will shed all of the animalistic notes to reveal a truly special scent!
